In a few weeks, there will be two new smartphones that will be among the first to bring 64MP quad cameras to the Indian market – Realme XT and Redmi Note 8 Pro. Both companies have confirmed their smartphone’s India launch.
DISPLAY & DESIGN
Both phones run on Android Pie based OS (Realme XT comes with ColorOS 6 and Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with MIUI 10) and support dual-SIM slots. The Realme XT comes with a 6.3″ FHD+ Dewdrop full-screen display that comes with a 90.6% screen-to-body ratio with a waterdrop-style notch, and The Redmi Note 8 Pro variant features a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ (2340×1080 pixels) display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and similar features including a waterdrop notch and Gorilla Glass 5 on front and back.
PROCESSOR, RAM & STORAGE
Under the hood, Realme XT uses the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor, and that it will also be available in the three RAM and storage configurations: 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage; 6GB of RAM with 64GB of storage; and 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. Redmi Note 8 Pro uses the MediaTek Helio G90T processor, and that it will also be available in the three RAM and storage configurations: 6GB of RAM with 64GB of storage; 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage; and 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage.
We noticed in Realme XT an “Ultra 64 MP” mode in the camera mode menu and were able to take a few shots. The amount of detail that can be resolved when zooming in to a 64-megapixel photo is truly impressive, but we’ll save our opinions about photo quality for our final review, keeping in mind that the camera software will be updated by then as well. The main camera has an f/1.8 aperture and electronic stabilization. The other three cameras are exactly what you get with the Realme 5 Pro – an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There’s also a 16-megapixel single front camera.
Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a 64-megapixel main shooter. The other three cameras in the phone are an 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter, a 2-megapixel depth camera, and 2-megapixel macro camera.
For selfies, the Realme XT has a 16-megapixel Sony IMX 471 sensor along with an f/2.0 lens. Redmi Note 8 Pro houses a 20-megapixel camera.
The Realme XT has a large 4,000mAh battery, and the Redmi Note 8 Pro has a 4,500mAh battery. and both have a 3.5mm audio jack and supports Bluetooth v5.
Price of both mobiles (Redmi Note 8 Pro VS Realme XT) is not clear in India rupees. But according to Chinese Price Realme XT is cheaper than Redmi Note 8 Pro.
