PUBG Mobile a privacy threat?
We did not utter a word about PUBG Mobile whether it is a privacy threat or not, but if we compare PUBG Mobile’s permission policy with other games like Fortnite. Did we found a question mark i.e. Is PUBG Mobile a privacy threat? It is because PUBG Mobile’s Permission Policy wants some extra permission from the user which is not necessary; actually here we are talking about STORAGE permission [This storage permission is just permission required by an app to store or access your phone’s storage for working properly]
Games usually create files while you play for example to store your save file, or when you download some add-on to the game, they are usually stored on the external card (somewhere in SDcard/Android/Obb or data folders) this would require the permission to write the files. But if we talk about PUBG Mobile’s Storage privacy permission then such permissions are not necessary for PUBG Mobile. We may state this by comparing PUBG Mobile’s Storage privacy permission with Fortnite’s Storage privacy permission.
We are comparing PUBG Mobile with Fortnite because Fortnite is an online video game developed by Epic Games and released in 2017 which is popular as PUBG Mobile.
In actual fact, both PUBG Mobile and Fortnite have the same gaming features. So the question arises that, if both games have gaming features then Why PUBG Mobile needs storage permission and Fornite not?
With this question, we can say that the permission policy of PUBG Mobile is hiding something from us and keeping an eye on our internal data without any need. This is not right and due to this, it is justified to be banned.
