Samsung has started rolling out major firmware updates to the Galaxy Watch, and the Galaxy Watch Active. The latest update comes on Tizen OS 5.5 with new features. Currently it is rolling out in South Korea and the US right now, but we expect them to reach other markets soon.
The new Tizen OS 5.5 brings new features such as the ability to see images in notifications from the paired smartphone, and it now support for AR Emoji and Bitmoji, voice guidance for workouts (running and cycling), and voice guidance via connected Bluetooth earphones. The scrolling capture has also been added to the Galaxy Watch. Users can capture longer screenshots on the watch so they could collect all the information or data in one image.
The latest update for the Galaxy Watch carries firmware version R810XXU1FUB6, while the Galaxy Watch Active’s latest update has firmware version R500XXUF1UB5. The download size of the new updates is around 291MB.
