OPPO starts rolling put new software update for OPPO F15 users. The new update brings a new feature with security patch. The update adds June 2021 security patch. However, the company has already released the stable Android 11 based ColorOS 11 update for the device. The new ColorOS 11 skin brings a bunch of great features like customizable AOD, three style dark mode, notification history, and more.
The update come on ColorOS 11.1 and brings brand new feature to the OPPO F15 smartphone. As per the changelog it adds a RAM expansion Feature: You can now convert part of storage into RAM to improve system performance in “Settings – About phone – RAM (Only available on phone models with an internal storage of 128 GB or higher).
What is virtual ram? how does it work?
It is very simple. Virtual RAM is a concept like ‘Virtual Memory’ that’s used in PCs. If the smartphone demands, it can borrow additional space from storage and allot it to RAM, to ensure a seamless performance. In other words, the smartphone will borrow some storage space and use it for RAM functions.
For example, if your phone has 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, it will use 3GB out of 128GB and increase the Ram from 8GB to 11GB.
A new firmware update, which bears firmware version CPH2001_11_F.61, is now rolling out to the Oppo F15 in Asia. Apart from the June 2021 security patch, we can also expect the update to bring non-critical bug fixes and stability improvements to the smartphones.
