Esports Awards 2021: Mortal finishes in the 2nd position after Ibai

The 2021 Esports Awards was held recently in Arlington, Texas, USA, where notable talents from the esports, gaming, and streaming industries were honored in various categories.

Mortal, India’s most well-known game streamer, finished second in the Streamer of the Year category, after Spanish YouTuber Ibai.

Mortal claims second position in Streamer of the Year at Esports Awards 2021

The podium finishers in one of the most talked-about categories, “The Streamer of the Year,” were unveiled today by the Esports Awards. For the second year in a row, Naman “Mortal” Mathur, the Indian gaming celebrity and undoubtedly one of the most well-known faces in the Indian gaming sector finished second in the category.

MortaL has also come second in the “Streamer of the Year” category in 2020. Mortal was also nominated in the Esports Player of the Year category for 2020, where he finished third.

Ibai, a Spanish YouTuber, variety streamer, and esports commentator, has previously won the award for the second year in a row. Ibai’s back-to-back wins in this category demonstrate his influence in the gaming and streaming communities, as well as his fan base.

Grefg, alias David Cánovas Martnez, another Spanish streamer and video developer, took third place in the category. TheGrefg was nominated in the category for the first time, and finishing third would mean a lot to him.

Earlier, Mortal sent a touching tweet after failing to win the “Streamer of the Year” honor, expressing that while he was disappointed not to win the prize, he was grateful to have his supporters in his life, with whom he gets to experience these wonderful moments. Mortal also underlined his determination to succeed, hoping to reach the pinnacle one day.

Mortal did not give up hope even after PUBG Mobile, Mortal’s, and many other streams’ major game of choice, was banned in India. In 2021, he broadened his material and participated in a variety of additional games, including Fall Guys, Among Us, and Valorant, to mention a few. Despite a significant decline in viewership, his devoted fan group remained at his side during difficult times.
