Telegram 8.3 Update: Brings New features – Content protection, improve privacy, and other innovations

The Popular instant messaging App Telegram has started receiving major updates. The latest Telegram 8.3 update brought users a lot of news features some of them affected the work of public groups, while others are aimed at improving the confidentiality of personal correspondence. 

Protected Content in Groups and Channels

Telegram 8.3 update is available for both Android and iOS users, globally. One of the most notable innovations is the content protection system in groups and channels. The ability to delete messages from specific dates, new ways to manage your connected devices, an option to post anonymously in public groups on behalf of your channel, and more. Their creators can now prevent their subscribers from saving photos and videos, forwarding messages, and taking screenshots.

It added to the settings menu and the function of managing active sessions. A new button in this section helps you instantly log into Telegram through a desktop application or through a browser. In this case, you can select a period of inactivity, after which all sessions will be terminated. For each of the devices, you can also configure permission to receive voice calls or start secret chats.

Another innovation allows owners of Android devices to apply color themes to the entire Telegram application, previously only available for private chats. On some devices, it also became possible to log into an account without SMS confirmation – instead, you will need to enter the last digits of the number from which the call from Telegram came.

For devices running iOS 13 and above, there is a function of recognizing English text on received or sent photos without sending data to the server. Media captions now support any formatting previously available for regular messages. Finally, iOS user, group, and channel profiles have been updated to match the iOS 15 standards.
