Samsung rolled out January 2022 security patch for Galaxy Note 9 in USA

South Korean tech company Samsung is now rolling out their latest January 2022 security patch for Galaxy Note 9 in the United States. Samsung promised us three years of major updates and five years of security updates, and as they are rolling them regularly we can say they are keeping their promise. Samsung started to roll out the latest January security patch three weeks before and gradually it is reaching more Galaxy devices in more areas.

Now Samsung is availing the January 2022 security update for Galaxy Note 9 in the United States. It is now available for both carrier locked and unlocked models there. The January 2022 security patch comes with the firmware version N960USQS9FVA1 for the carrier locked models and N960U1UES9FVA1 for the unlocked Note 9 models.

If you are from the United States and currently have a Galaxy Note 9 mobile then you may already got the notification. You can now download this latest January 2022 update using the following steps:

Menu key – Settings – About phone – Software updates – Check for Updates – Download and Install update

The latest security update promotes better security and stability for your device. Some of the bugs that Samsung fixes in this SMR update include unprotected dynamic receiver in SecSettings, Improper sanitization of incoming intent in Dressroom, improper check or handling of exceptional conditions in NPU driver, improper authorization in TelephonyManager, incorrect implementation of Knox Guard, etc.
