GTA 6 confirmed by Rockstar: Release date, leaks, and more explained

Rockstar confirmed last week that GTA 6 is in the works, and the fan community has been in a frenzy since then. There haven’t been many rumors about the game recently, but fans should expect some new ones shortly.

Meanwhile, the game has already had several purported leaks since before Rockstar announced its existence. This article examines some of the most intriguing leaks that have surfaced throughout the years.

Leaks in maps

Fans frequently create satirical map leaks for GTA 6 that are designed to be blatant forgeries. However, this pattern began with the habit of many anonymous leakers to produce map dumps that are quickly disproved.

This was the case for two separate map leaks, one in 2018 and the other in 2021. Both have now been debunked as clear forgeries. The first included a photorealistic satellite map of a tropical island with urban areas comparable to those seen in Miami and Rio de Janeiro.

The other comes from purported gaming footage shot with a shaky camera (a classic indicator of a fake leak).

AI patent

One of the most straightforward and credible leaks from 2021 was linked to a patent submitted by Take-Two Interactive. This patent was for an enhanced artificial intelligence that would be employed in a video game environment. Fans connected the dots and realized it had to be for the NPCs in GTA 6.

With the announcement of the game’s development, it’s reasonable to infer that this ‘leak’ was accurate. With this in mind, fans should anticipate NPCs in GTA 6 to be significantly more sophisticated than anything seen previously in the franchise.

Like most current RPG games, each in-game NPC might have a fixed routine and timetable.

GTA 6 release date leaks

Tez2, a prominent Rockstar Games informant, offered his thoughts on an announcement last month on GTAForums. He stated that GTA 6 will most likely be announced in early 2022 by Rockstar. Despite the community’s skepticism, this proved to be accurate.

He also indicated that an announcement in 2022 may imply a release in 2023 or early 2024. This, he said, was due to the fact that Rockstar normally publishes its games a year after they are announced. While his announcement forecast has been confirmed, his release date prediction has yet to be confirmed.

Tom Henderson‘s predictions

When it comes to GTA 6 leaks in 2021, Tom Henderson has been the most dependable name. Most of his findings have been considered credible by the majority of the community. He verified the long-running Vice City rumors, but he also claimed that the next game will take place in the present day.

Henderson has also hinted at a female protagonist and a smaller area that would be updated with fresh content on a regular basis. The most intriguing thing he’s revealed is the publication date. According to him, the game might be released in 2024 or 2025.

If this is true, fans will have to wait at least another year before seeing a gameplay trailer.

Voice Actors in GTA 6

There have been two reports of fans discovering some of the VAs (voice actors) that are scheduled to be in GTA 6. The most well-known incident occurred when Jorge Consejo’s CV (which included the game) was leaked. Another VA, Dave Jackson, wrote a Facebook post last year about earning a job in a Grand Theft Auto game.

Due to the confidentiality agreements that are typically linked with such undertakings, Consejo did not say anything. Jackson, on the other hand, removed his initial post since it was attracting too much attention.
