List of countries after India where Garena Free Fire may get banned soon

Garena Free Fire, a popular battle royale game, was among the 54 ‘Chinese’ applications banned in India on Monday, February 14. While the game is now only restricted in India, it might potentially be banned in other regions owing to ongoing litigation against the makers of Garena Free Fire.

Krafton, the creators of PUBG Mobile and Battlegrounds Mobile India, sued the creators of Garena Free Fire last month for imitating PUBG Mobile.

Krafton had also included Apple in its complaint since Garena Free Fire and Free Fire Max were available on their respective app marketplaces. Hence, the game might face a lot of trouble in other countries too.

Why Free Fire may get banned in these countries?

To the dismay of Free Fire fans, the game is now banned in India and while MeiTY stated that it was banned due to the involvement of Chinese companies, this Singapore-based game was left absolutely clueless the game didn’t really have any connection with the Chinese companies.

Hence, one of the most probable reasons behind this ban is the PUBG lawsuit that claimed Free Fire and Free Fire Max extensively copy numerous aspects of Battlegrounds, both individually and in combination, including Battlegrounds’ copyrighted unique game-opening “airdrop” feature, the game structure and play, the combination and selection of weapons, armor, and unique objects, locations, and the overall choice of color schemes, materials, and textures.

But they must remember that no further updates will be available in the game till it arrives again in India.
