New State Mobile Open Challenge schedule, tournament details, and points system revealed

New State Mobile announced its first-ever major esports tournament. called the Open Challenge, a few weeks back. Today is the first day of that tournament. However, this is an exclusive event based in Korea.

Therefore, only Korean players can participate in this event and can take away a hefty prize of 200,000,000 KRW. However, the tournament will be pretty tough to play and entertaining to watch as all the matches will be played in the intense BR Extreme mode.  

The fast-paced action will surely bring the adrenaline rush while even watching the game on New State Mobile’s official YouTube channel. But, let’s just look at all the details, schedule, and format of the tournament before streaming the event.

As it has been previously stated, NEW STATE MOBILE’s first online amateur esports tournament kicked off today in Korea with 24 teams having cemented their spots in the Group Stages. They will battle it out in Troi this week for a chance to take home 200,000,000 KRW.

Here is the detailed schedule of this tournament that starts from February 15, 2022:

• GROUP STAGE
  • Day 1 (Group A): Feb. 15, 09:00 (UTC+0)
  • Day 2 (Group B): Feb. 16, 09:00 (UTC+0)
  • Day 3 (Group C): Feb. 17, 09:00 (UTC+0)
• WILD CARD ROUND: Feb. 18, 09:00 (UTC+0)
• PLAY-OFFS: Feb 19, 09:00 (UTC+0)

Tournament Details and format

• Mode: BR: EXTREME (Troi)
• Team Details: 24 Teams (4 Survivors in each team), TPP Mode
• Stage Details:
  • Group Stages: 
    • 24 teams will be divided into 3 groups.
    • The top 2 teams in each group will advance to Play-Offs.
    • 6 teams will advance to Play-Offs in the Group Stages.
  • Wild Card Round: 
    • 8 teams will face off for the remaining 2 Play-Offs spots.
    • The teams in this round will consist of the teams that ranked 3rd and 4th in each group during the Group Stages.
    • 2 teams will advance to Play-Offs.
  • Play-Offs:
    • 8 teams will battle it out in Troi.

All rounds will evaluate teams based on the following points system:

As for the Kill points, 1 kill will reward 1 point to the players.

Rewards for players

To celebrate the Open Challenge, an exclusive coupon event will be held during Play-Offs on  Feb. 19. There will be 3 coupon drops during the Livestream:

• Coupon Drop 1: 5 Chicken Medals + 1 Troi 150% BP Card
• Coupon Drop 2: 5 Chicken Medals + 1 Erangel 150% BP Card
• Coupon Drop 3: 10 Chicken Medals + 1 Royale Chest

These coupons can only be redeemed on Feb. 19 and cannot be redeemed more than once. There are a limited number of coupons that will be redeemed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
