BGMI reveals Esports roadmap for 2022

BGMI has been more than a game for battle royale lovers in India. It’s now not just a household name for BR titles but also an emotion for millions of BGMI players. BGIS 2021 was a huge success this year and to continue the legacy, the organizers have planned to arrange a roadmap for the esports culture for the rest of 2022.

BGMI officially revealed the roadmap for the future of BGMI Esports in 2022 which included tournaments like BMOC and BMPS. This article shares every detail about the tournaments that the organizers have discussed so far.

List of BGMI tournaments that will be hosted throughout 2022

As per the roadmap report, there will be a total of four esports tournaments in BGMI that will be conducted throughout 2022.

  • BMOC – Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge
  • BMPS – Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series Season 1
  • BMPS – Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series Season 2
  • BGIS – Battlegrounds Mobile India Series

Details, format, and registration schedule for the tournaments

The competition will open with the BMOC. The registrations for BMOC will start from the last week of February. The in-game qualifiers will begin from March from where 512 teams will be qualified to Round 1. After Round 1 ends, a total of 256 teams will qualify for Round 2.

The next face-off in Round 2 will result in the selection of 64 teams in Round 3. After Round 3 concludes, only 24 teams will qualify for the next BMPS Season 1 event. The BMPS qualifiers will be played amongst the 24 qualified teams and invited teams and after that only 24 teams will advance towards the League Stage.

The League Stage will be hosted in a round-robin format. Only 16 teams will then qualify for the Grand Finals. The Grand Finals will also follow the same round-robin format and the winning team will get away with a huge prize pool of 2 crore INR.

The rest of the schedule for BGIS was yet to be declared but was confirmed that the former will take place immediately after BMPS Season 1.
