Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro latest leaks, expected release date, price, and more

Google’s next flagship smartphones aren’t due for a bit, but there have already been a few rumours speculating on what they could provide when they do.

We’ve compiled a list of things we’d want to see from the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro’s successors, as well as any rumours. Cheetah (Pixel 7) and Panther (Pixel 7 Pro)) are said to be the codenames for the gadgets. Here’s a breakdown of what has been heard thus far.

Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro expected release date and price range

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in October 2022. Of course, nothing is official yet, and nothing will be for a while, but October has been Google’s month of choice for numerous years in a row.

We expect it to go on sale a couple of weeks after it is shown, so probably before the end of October.

The Pixel 6 begins at £599 in the United Kingdom, $599 in the United States, and €649 in Europe, while the Pixel 6 Pro begins at £849 in the United Kingdom, $899 in the United States, and €899 in Europe. It’s unclear whether we can anticipate the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro to be priced similarly.

Design and display of Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro

According to several leaked renderings, the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro may have a similar style to their predecessors, but with a few minor changes. The camera housing that spans the back of both devices appears to be here to stay in 2022, however, renderings show it will wrap into the frame for the Pixel 7 handsets, as it does on the Samsung Galaxy S22.

The Google Pixel 7 is believed to be 155.6 x 73.1 x 8.7mm with a camera bump of 11.44mm, while the Pixel 7 Pro is 163 x 76.6 x 8.7mm with a camera bump of 11.2mm.

The renderings also indicate that the Pixel 7 will have its flat display, while the Pixel 7 Pro will keep the slightly curved edges found on the Pixel 6 Pro. In the renderings, both smartphones have a centered punch hole camera at the top of their screens, and both are believed to incorporate under-display fingerprint sensors.

The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are both IP68 water and dustproof, therefore the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro should be as well.

According to rumours, the Pixel 7 will feature a screen size of 6.2-inches to 6.4-inches, while the Pixel 7 Pro will have a 6.7-inch or 6.8-inch screen. This is similar to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, therefore there may be just minor changes in this area.

The Pixel 6 had a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz, whilst the Pixel 6 Pro offered a variable refresh rate ranging from 10Hz to 120Hz.

Camera

According to reports, the Google Pixel 7 might include a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, as well as an 8-megapixel front camera. If this is genuine, the improvements appear to be centered on the ultra-wide lens as compared to the Pixel 6.

Expected specs

According to reports, the Pixel 7 might include storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. None of these are likely to include a microSD slot. The 512GB storage capacity would be a first for the Pixel 7, as the Pixel 6 only supports 256GB, albeit these are only rumours for the time being.

In terms of RAM, the Pixel 7 should have at least 8GB and the Pixel 7 Pro should have at least 12GB, same as its predecessors.
