Oppo has developed practically tremendously in recent years, and ColorOS 12 and 12.1 have toned down the iOS impact, resulting in a good alternative full of fantastic features.

1) Wallpaper influenced theming
Google’s wallpaper-based theming is being applied in a variety of ways across OEMs, but in Oppo’s instance, it’s a touch more adjustable. You may choose which parts of your wallpaper to use for system accenting by going to the Personalization page in Settings.
You’ll receive a preview of where your color selections will be applied. Everything is simple and straightforward, from in-app buttons to Quick Settings tiles. Individual applications may not conform to system-level colors, as opposed to Dynamic Color in Material You for Pixel handsets.
2) Improved haptic controls
The “O-haptics” function, which is exclusive to ColorOS 12.1, allows you to alter and tweak the vibration feedback of the Find X5 Pro. You may choose the strength of the vibrations and even whether they feel “sharp” or “soft” beneath your hand. This stands true for all aspects of the device.
3) Dark mode tuning
Oppo has introduced three levels of personalization for ColorOS 12’s in-built dark theme, allowing users can change the color depth: “Enhanced,” “Medium,” and “Gentle.”
4) RAM Expansion
ColorOS 12 contains a built-in function that allows you to rewire up to 7GB of your device’s storage to “act” as RAM, hence improving speed and performance.
5) Floating Window
The floating window function has been around for a while, but it’s still a great multi-tasking solution since it allows you to pop out any program and stow running applications wherever on your screen for easy access or re-opening. You can now run up to three applications on the screen when combined with the system’s built-in split-screen mode.
6) Canvas AOD
The Canvas AOD feature has made its way from OnePlus phones to ColorOS — if you have a smartphone with an AMOLED screen. It’s simply called “Portrait silhouette” here, and it functions in the same manner.
When you set a picture as your lock screen, this function will draw a line drawing of your image. When you unlock your smartphone, the picture on your home screen will be in full color with all of the features.

7) Privacy Dashboard and other Controls
The expanded privacy controls, which include the Privacy Dashboard settings page, are a new feature in Android 12. This is just a central location for all sensor and on-device data access requests throughout a 24-hour period.
Microphone and camera indications are also available as options. The toggles in the Quick Settings panel allow you to quickly disable access to the camera and microphone.
New pop-ups and choices to deny access to your device’s location round out Android 12’s privacy controls. Apps may be configured to access the “exact” or “approximate” location of your device.
8) Default Google Apps
Oppo smartphones are not without bloat, so it’s fantastic to see at least a few duplicates removed with the use of default Google programs like Messages and Chrome. The Google Phone app is now the default dialer in ColorOS 12, with improved capabilities like caller ID and spam detection, among others.
