According to Han, GOS is just intended to improve the performance of smartphones. He also refuted claims that GOS is part of the company’s overzealous cost-cutting measures. Han stated that Samsung does not decrease the quality of their gadgets in order to save money.

It was reported a few weeks after the debut of the Galaxy 22 series that all three phones in the series came pre-installed with the Game Optimization Service (GOS), which throttles the performance of over 1,000 applications and games.

Customers began to complain about this issue after learning that GOS could not be disabled. Other smartphones equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPUs outperformed the Galaxy S22.

After the controversy erupted, Samsung reacted by claiming that GOS just restricts gaming performance and prevents Galaxy smartphones from overheating.

After a few weeks, the business published a new software update that allows customers to disable GOS. However, the update has only been made available in a few countries.
