Breaking: OnePlus 9R, OnePlus 8/8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T receive stable Android 12 with OxygenOS 12 [Download]

It was only a matter of time before Android 12 arrived on the OnePlus 9R and 8 Series even outside of China: a few days ago the devices in question received the update to ColorOS 12 (based on Android 12), but only in China. Now the OxygenOS 12, also based on Android 12, is available for all devices.

Finally, OnePlus has started rolling out the stable OxygenOS 12 update with Android 12 for OnePlus 9R, OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T. This build is now rolling out to Open Beta users, and will soon roll out to stable branch users. The build for EU users requires additional validation steps, but it will be released as soon as possible.

The OxygenOS 12 does not upset the operating system, which therefore remains similar in design to the previous version of customization: the main innovations concern the Shelf screen also accessible from the notification panel, the arrival of the Work-Life Balance function, and little else. In general, no further changes have been made compared to the Android 12 Developer Preview, although obviously bugs and problems have been fixed.

Anyway, the update should be available within a few days and will be downloadable from the smartphone settings. At the moment, it is not possible to download the zip file to install manually – this too will arrive in the next few days.
