The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus have received their final security update as Samsung ends support for these two smartphones after over four years. Samsung has out the March 2022 security update for both smartphones and will no longer offer support to them.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 Series debuted in 2018. Based on the Samsung software maintenance schedule, the OS updates should have ended in April 2022 and security updates in March 2022.
While Samsung is ending security updates in March 2022, it went beyond its promised OS update schedule to roll out the Android 10 update for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in January 2020. On the whole, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ have received three major OS updates – Android 9.0 Pie, and Android 10 finally.
Next in line to reach the end of life is the Galaxy S10 Series – Samsung has rolled out the Android 12 update for these smartphones, That is, the phone will now receive a single update every quarter, or every three months. The last update that the Samsung Galaxy S10 picked up was in the month of March.
