Files by Google app still emphasize Nearby Share with the latest update

Files by Google is dedicated to Android smartphones and deals with internal storage and management of all files stored locally. Google recently released a new update for the Files app.

The latest update of Googles files app does not introduce any particular changes compared to what we saw previously: the screenshots in the gallery show that Google has re-positioned the link to the quick share nearby, known internationally as Nearby Share, in the lower bar of the main interface of the app. The novelty is reserved for the Files app on Pixel devices.

Google’s goal therefore seems to emphasize the presence of quick sharing nearby, a feature that would be the alternative to Apple’s AirDrop .

The new feature is included in version 1.0.440568297 of the Files app in beta. Below you will find the button to download it directly from the Play Store.
