OnePlus Update Policy 2022: These Devices Will Get 3 major OxygenOS & 4 Years Security Updates

OnePlus has released an announcement in the community. In response to system update issues that users are generally concerned about, we hereby explain the rules for the OxygenOS system update. The specific rules are as follows.

OnePlus has already confirmed its new update policy for its OnePlus devices. It is starting with the OnePlus 9 series and the OnePlus 8 series will now get three major Android OS updates and four years of security updates. This includes T-series and R models too. OxygenOS remains the OS for global OnePlus users as always but is now built on a more stable and stronger platform. This will apply to new devices in the future, while for existing devices that are still within the maintenance schedule, it will occur via an OTA update along with Android 12. Note: Flagship devices released prior to the OnePlus 8 series will follow the previous schedule of 2 major Android updates and 3 years of security updates. Software update plans for carrier versions will follow the requirements of our carrier partners.
