After a while of waiting, the time finally comes for OnePlus 9RT to officially try a first version of Android 12. OnePlus has started releasing the first Android 12 Open Beta with OxygenOS 12 for its OnePlus 9RT. Let’s see the changelog together, bearing in mind that in this build there are several elements of OPPO’s ColorOS, as already happened with the OxygenOS 12 released for other OnePlus models.
The installation procedure is the classic that involves manually downloading the ROM file, below you will find the direct links, in the device and then select the Local Update option from the Device Settings. The procedure will not perform a factory reset to your data but OnePlus recommends making a security backup.

Installation process
Please note that the upgrade package below only suits users who are on A.08 version.
- Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
- Copy the Upgrade package to the phone storage.
- Install this apk. You’ll need it to update. Then, open the app -> tap the top-right gear icon -> find the upgrade package and tap it -> wait to finish the installation -> tap reboot
- After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
- 5. Update successful.
OxygenOS 12 Closed Beta – May 6th
In addition to the constant release of Open Betas for its devices, OnePlus also has a Closed Beta program, created for 7 series, which allows the few participants to try new features and above all express feedback directly to OxygenOS developers. Recently, users of the OnePlus 9RT will also be able to join the program.
OnePlus official released the OnePlus 9RT 5G OxygenOS 12 x Android 12 closed beta recruitment announcement.
To join the program you must have requirements:
- Obviously own a OnePlus 9RT India variant
- Be an active member of the OnePlus Community
- Be willing to communicate constantly and provide feedback to the OnePlus team on Telegram
The OnePlus team will only accept 200 people who will be required to sign a nondisclosure agreement, as testers will often receive builds and features weeks or even months before they are released to the public and therefore maximum confidentiality is required.
