The June 2022 Android security patch for Samsung‘s Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra is now available widely. The carrier-locked variants of these phones are picking up the latest security update in the US.
Samsung is rolling out the June 2022 security patch for the Galaxy S20 series; however, the international variant already received the update a week ago. Now the company is deploying the update in the carrier-locked Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra variants. The update comes with firmware version G981USQU2FVF1, G986USQU2FVF1, and G988USQU2FVF1 respectively for the carrier-locked variants.
The latest update patches more than 66 vulnerabilities affecting Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Samsung accounts, and more. It also includes general bug fixes and device stability improvements.
When the update is available on your device, it will be notified through a notification. You will be able to download and install it via OTA (i.e., directly from the device). The most impatient can still manually check its availability, go to the Settings menu, scroll to the section dedicated to software updates, and start the check.
