All About Samsung One UI 5.0 Update

In August 2022, Google officially introduced the Stable version of the Android 13 operating system. Meanwhile, many smartphone brands also rolled out their own custom interface based on Android 13 OS. However, Samsung is still working on the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update adoption process for flagship Galaxy devices. 

Samsung started the One UI 5.0 Beta update testing for Galaxy S22 series at the beginning of August. Therefore, we expect the stable Android 13 update for Galaxy smartphones could be available later this year.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Series: South Korea

  • [September 28, 2022] Samsung has started One UI 5.0 Beta 1 update for Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra in South Korea. This beta update comes with the October 2022 Android security patch update. 

Samsung Galaxy A52 Beta 1 & Beta 2: India

  • [October 10, 2022] Now, the South Korean tech giant has started rolling out the second beta Android 13-based One UI 5.0 software update for Galaxy A52 smartphone users in the country.

Earlier that month, Samsung released the second Android 13-based One UI 5.0 for Galaxy S21 series users in the US. The second beta comes with software version number ZVIE. Samsung Galaxy S22 series: US, Germany, South Korea, India, Poland, China, and the UK 

Samsung One UI 5.0 Beta Program: Beta 1, Beta 2, Beta 3, Beta 4

One UI 5.0 Beta 1: On August 5, Samsung started rolling out an Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta program for Galaxy S22. Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra in Germany and South Korea. Plus, the South Korean tech giant also rolled out the One UI 5.0 initial beta for India, the UK, the US, Poland, and China in late August. The Beta Program carries version number ZVH4.

One UI 5.0 Beta 2: On August 25, The South Korean tech giant started the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta 2 in the US, Germany, and South Korea. And later, the company also released the second beta for more regions, including India, the UK, Poland, and China. Users can identify this beta update via the firmware version ending ZVHK. The One UI 5.0 beta 2 comes with many new features, including Smart Widget suggestions, a new Maintenance Mode, Privacy Detection, Life Style Mode, and more. Moreover, this update fixes many functions such as the home screen, auto-rotate, the S Pen, shared links, touch sensitivity, Bixby Routines, screen capture, and more. Moreover, the company fixed the Samsung Wallet issues with Beta 2.

One UI 5.0 Beta 3: In mid-September, Samsung began releasing the third beta of the One UI 5.0 based on the Android 13 for Galaxy S22 series in all regions with the software number ZVI9. It is the first time that the third One UI 5.0 Beta update has been released for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 version of the Galaxy S22 series. Read more How To Use Nearby Share in Samsung Smartphones

Samsung One UI 5.0 Beta enhanced the smoothness of the animations and transitions and introduced the slideshows in the story section of the Gallery app. One of the major changes of the Beta 3 is the revamped Wallpaper customization section. Plus, this update removes the Auto Optimization feature in the Device Care app. In addition, it fixed the issues related to the Calendar and Gallery widgets.

One UI 5.0 Beta 4: A few days ago, Samsung started the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta 4 update for Galaxy S22 family users in the US and later on, the company expanded its beta 4 updates for the rest of the countries. With the One UI 5.0 Beta 4 update, the company improves the Favorites, and Recent items can be added and removed from the Gallery album. In addition, this update fixed several bugs, executed sleep mode automatically, occurring vibration sound/beep sound continuously, crashing when entering the App folder/changing Wallpaper/S Pen Air Command, and more. In addition, One UI 5.0 Beta 4 update removed the Multi-user function on the Home and fixed other major Known bugs. 

Samsung One UI 5.0 Beta Program Features.

According to the changelog, many new features and improvements have been introduced in the beta update. It brings Android 13’s color palette feature that enables themed icons for Samsung, Google, and third-party apps. Apart from this, the update comes with several improvements under RAM Plus, Galaxy Themes, App Edge Panel, Spoken Assistance, etc.
