Let’s Meet The New Customizable Lock Screen Of Samsung One UI 5 Skin

Samsung Electronics finally launched the stable One UI 5 after dropping various beta programs of the same. It is currently available in Galaxy S22 range devices. With this stable update, we got to see many significant changes in the User Interface. One of the key features of the One UI 5 is the capability to customize the lock screen.

One UI 5 lets the user design their device’s lock screen exactly as they want. They will be able to adjust the widgets as per their preferences; they can personalize their wallpapers, design the clock widget, and more. We are providing here a step-by-step guide to help the users with this customization.

This feature will provide these customization options

Let you know that with this feature, you can customize the clock widget, wallpaper, colour preference, etc., add contact information, and create shortcut keys. Users will only have up to two app shortcuts that are divided into two categories- one that can be opened without unlocking the device and the other that will require the user to unlock the device first.

Know how to use it

To use these customization tools, one needs a long tap on the lock screen. Other than this, the user can customize the lock screen with the ‘Settings’ option also. To use the settings options, you can go through these steps- Settings→Lock Screen→Edit (The edit button will appear on the top). After tapping to edit, you will access the new lock screen customization option. Now take a look at each customization option.

For the Wallpapers

Tap on the ‘Wallpaper’ button that is located in the upper left corner of the customization window. Users will get to see many categories here so they can set a different kind of wallpapers, such as-

  • Wallpapers from the Gallary
  • Downloaded wallpaper from Galaxy Themes
  • Samsung’s official static lock screen wallpaper
  • Its official gradient colour lock screen wallpaper
  • Wallpaper shipped with the Galaxy device
  • Wallpaper Service- Dynamic Lock screen or Samsung Global Goals wallpapers etc.

Clock Customization

To customize the clock, first, click on the ‘Clock’ tab. Here you can get five different clock options, of which three are digital-style clocks, and the rest two are analog clocks. Simultaneously, they offer a total of 6 font styles for the digital clock. The analog clock options may not get any custom font style. One can resize the clock widget, too via dragging the corner.

One can add Contact Information

In case you lose your device, One UI 5 gives an option called ‘Contact Information. So if the user loses his device and the founder is unable to unlock it, he can simply get your contact information on the lock screen. You just need to write your alternate no. or your address in this option.

Create App Shortcuts

The User Interface provides you with the shortcut option for frequently used apps. One can easily make a shortcut to their needy apps, which they want quick access to. There are five apps that don’t require users to unlock the phone- Calculator, Camera, Do not disturb, Flashligh, and Voice Recorder. To create a shortcut, tap on the ‘+’ icon that will show up at the bottom of the screen and now select the needy app from the list.
