Samsung has recently launched a new application named ‘Dropship’. The newcomer is going to be a part of Samsung’s Good Lock family, which is a bunch of its customization applications. With its help, you will be able to transfer files directly from your Galaxy phone to any other device. The application works with the iPhone as well.
Currently, the manufacturer has announced the launch of this new Good Lock module in South Korea. This module lets you share files between your Galaxy phone and tablet, from other Android phones to tablets, and across the iPhone, iPad, and even the web as well. It also lets you set an availability period for these transferred files in the recipient’s device.
Dropship will not be as quick as Nearby Share, or Quick Share are
Apart from the utilities, the newcomer also had some limitations with it. Because it wants access to the internet to transfer files, it will not work as speedily as Quick Share or Nearby Share-like features can do, which use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth accessibility to transfer files. In South Korea, it has a sharing limit; also, you can not transfer files of more than 5GB in a day.
Besides these, to use this module, the sender is mandatory to have a Samsung account, but the receiver doesn’t. Another limitation is to have Android 13 and One UI 5 on the device; it means this will not work for the older Galaxy devices that don’t support the newer OS version. For those whose device doesn’t support the Good Lock module or it is not available in their country, Dropship will be worthless to them.
How the Dropship will work
To use the Dropship application, which is a newly-launched Good Lock module, users need to install it first through the Galaxy Store. After installing, it will let you select the files you want to transfer. Now the application will create a transfer link and generate a QR Code also. By tapping the link or scanning the QR, the recipient will easily grab files from it.
