New information has come out, according to which Google is preparing a new Bulit-in call switching feature for enhancing the users sharing experience between their Android phones, tablets, and many other devices. The upcoming new feature is named “Link Your Device.”
However, this is not the latest feature in the industry because many other smartphone devices are already familiar with this feature, such as iPhone, Samsung, and OnePlus. Still, as compared to other OS devices, native Android devices (Pixel devices) are a bit backward in this field.
Apple provides the facility for users to launch a hotspot on their iPhone from a nearby iPad and transfer an incoming phone call from their iPhone to iPad. Conversely, Google only offers to launch a hotspot facility from a Chromebook. But fortunately, the company is preparing to increase the sharing power by introducing a new feature “Link Your Device” menu, and it is expected that soon the company will roll out this convenient feature.
This menu will provide a center point for features, allowing the users to work, covering quite a few Android devices linked with the same Google Account. At the moment, I just got information about only one facility, which is “Call switching,” which will offer users to switch their phone calls between devices. And apart from this, it is also expected that “Internet sharing,” based on hotspot functionality, might be added to this menu.
Moreover, it is not yet confirmed when this new convenient menu will take the floor on native Android devices. Meanwhile, the upcoming Android 14 release also does not consist of this feature, so it is expected to roll out in a future feature update for Pixel devices.
