Realme has always shown particular attention to the software support of its devices and several Realme smartphones were updated in the recent history of the company. Unfortunately, even for the top of the range of 2018 from Realme, the time has come for the final greetings:
Realme X2, Realme X2 Pro, Realme XT will no longer receive Android updates. The end of software support comes after 2 major updates, about thirty Closed and Open Beta build for a total of more than 3 years of updates.
All these smartphones have recently received the Realme UI 2.0 stable. Surely a long journey for these devices, for which modding becomes the only way to test the news of Android, starting from those proposed by Android 12.
However, there are many such devices of Realme that have stopped getting the Android and security patch and there are some who are getting the new security patch on Android 10. If we talk about the update policy of Realme, then it maintains major Android updates for 2 years and security patches for 3 years but the security patch will be quarterly based which means updates will be available every 3 months.

But with the launch of Realme GT 2 and GT 2 Pro, one of the most exciting announcements (at least for us) came at the end of the event when Realme said they are committing to delivering 3 major Android OS updates and 4 years of security patches to the Realme GT 2 Series. Currently, it will not commit itself to delivering this level of software support to any other device. That means that Realme will finally offer the same level of software support as Samsung offers for its Galaxy phones.
