OnePlus 7 and 7T Retired, But Display, Camera, and Network Still Have Issues

Software updates are essential for every device. Isn’t it? It is because updates bring new features, improvements, fixes, and more for better device performance. Unfortunately, only some phones get updates for a long time, and some lose support. Well, the OnePlus 7 and 7T series have finally dropped support for significant software updates and monthly security patches.

OnePlus 7 and 7T Retired (EOL), But Display, Camera, and Network Issues Are Still There :

Last week, OnePlus rolled out the OxygenOS 12 MP3 update for OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series. The latest update primarily brings the December 2022 security patch and general improvements. The Chinese tech giant has released the software version H.32 for the OnePlus 7 series and version F.18 for the OnePlus 7T series.

Unfortunately, this is the last OxygenOS 12 update for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series devices. While many users are happy with the new and final update, some are stuck with display, camera, network, and VoWiFi issues on their OnePlus 7 and 7T series handsets with the latest upgrade.

OnePlus has confirmed that the devices launched in 2019 will not get any further software updates. However, the tech giant has already provided these devices with two major Android updates and three years of security patches.

OnePlus Update Policy :

Back in 2021, OnePlus extended its software support for the newly launched flagship devices. Starting with the OnePlus 8 series, the devices will receive three years of major Android OS updates and four years of security patches. In 2022, the brand has once again carried forward its promises of software updates. Starting in 2023, the company will begin providing four major software updates and five years of security patches.

OnePlus 7 series last OxygenOS 12 update caused various bugs & issues :

Display:

Over the past few days, several users have complained about smartphones showing a greenish tint or maximum brightness on their display. On the other hand, some users say that when using the fingerprint sensor, the entire screen goes to full brightness when the fingerprint sensor is activated and remains so for a few seconds after unlocking.

Network:

As per the report some users reported that they are facing persistent VoWiFi and network issues after installing the OxygenOS 12 MP3 patch on their OnePlus 7 Series devices. As a result, the facility has become unstable and is not working correctly.

Camera:

After the OxygenOS 12 MP3 update, several users have reported on OnePlus community posts and various social media platforms that their OnePlus 7 series devices face camera damage issues. Also, the pop-up notification advises you to contact customer care for assistance.

Final Verdict:

This is obviously an annoying and troublesome issue for OnePlus 7 and 7T owners, as it can really affect the quality of their experience while using the devices. If you own one of those devices, we suggest you get the new device to protect your security and privacy or your own data.
