Meta Introducing End-to-end Encrypted Chats On Facebook Messenger

End-to-end encrypted chats have already been available to users on Facebook Messenger since last year, but they are not activated by default, and you need to go into individual chat settings to enable them. Meanwhile, today, the social media tech giant has begun expanding a global test of end-to-end encrypted chats on Facebook Messenger.

According to reports, Meta co-founder Mark Zuckerberg announced some new features for end-to-end encrypted chats in Facebook Messenger. On the flip side, the company slowly started expanding the default end-to-end encryption test to Messenger.

This feature is expanding to Facebook Messenger because the company knows people want a place to connect, and they want those conversations to be private, safe, and secure. Furthermore, the company claims that some of its chats will be gradually upgraded over the next few months with an additional layer of security provided by end-to-end encryption.

According to the information, this feature will gradually come to more users with random processes. It is designed to be random so as not to have any negative impact on our infrastructure and people’s chat experience. The company also makes sure that our new end-to-end encrypted threads continue to give people a fast, reliable, and rich experience on Facebook Messenger.
