How Many OxygenOS/Android Update Will Get The OnePlus 11R?

Since OnePlus has announced the new software update standard for 2023 and later devices. Since then, Users have been wondering how many years of software updates the OnePlus 11R will receive.

The OnePlus 11R will be released on Feb 07, 2023, at the Cloud 11 event along with the latest flagship smartphone, OnePlus11, OnePlus Tablet, OnePlus TV and more.

If you are thinking of buying a OnePlus 11R or wondering whether it’s worth updating your current handset, one important factor to consider is how long OnePlus will offer support for that one.

For information, There are two ways in which a company supports its devices. One is the Monthly security patch update – ensuring that any bugs and security flaws are addressed. The other is the MajorOS Android update – Released by the Company based on the Android version.

As we have discussed in our OnePlus 11 post, In November 2022, OnePlus announced an extended software policy that would apply to devices starting in the year 2023. With this statement, the upcoming OnePlus 11 series will be the first and latest to support four Android/OxygenOS updates and five years of security patches. The new OnePlus 11 will follow this policy (Android 17 or 2026).

Plus, it will receive security patches five years after launch, indicating that OnePlus will support these phones until at least 2028.

With this statement, we expect the same policy to be applicable to the OnePlus 11R device. i.e. four years of a major update and five years of a monthly security patch. According to the report, the device will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, a triple camera with an alert slider button OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13 and more.
