Google Messages Ready To Receive AI-Generated Replies

The RCS feature in Google Messages allows you to reply to text messages you receive online and offline quickly. But what if you get a text that requires “Yes” or “Okay?” Google is working on a new feature for its Messages app that will provide an AI-Generated Replies to be sent to the recipient.

An analysis of the latest beta of Google Messages run by 9to5Google – an APK teardown – actually saw a new button in the text field next to the emoji and send icon. Moving on, it appears that a button uses the sparkle icon used by Bard – Google’s ChatGPT rival. It looks like Google is trying to integrate a new feature in Google Messages that explicitly applies to AI-generated replies.

Google Messages: Automated AI-generated Replies

According to the above-mentioned outlet, the AI currently only generates a preset message (TODO!) in the message composition area. This indicates that the feature is currently under development.

In the future, when the generative AI reply feature makes its way to the stable version of Google Messages on your Realme, OnePlus, Samsung phones, or other Android phones, the US tech giant will use one of its AI generative tools, Bard or LAMDA, which the app underlines to suggest better answers.

According to the report, the message generated by tapping on the sparkling button is not automatically sent. This allows you to go through the generated message and decide if that is the message you want to send as your reply. Note that this feature was spotted in an APK Insight post, and there needs to be clarity on whether the AI-generated replies feature will make its way to Google Messages.
