Samsung has a wide range of smartphones with all kinds of features, but when it comes to the most loved mid-range phone series from the companies, the name that comes to our mind is the Galaxy A series. Samsung Galaxy A33 5G Long-Term Review:

Galaxy A33 5G Price & Color :

Samsung Galaxy A33 5G is launched in two storage variants in India, the 6GB RAM +128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 32,999, and the 8GB RAM +128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 34,999. Buyers can avail of the A33 5G(6GB+128GB) at Rs 25,999 on Samsung.com. The phone features four different color options: Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Blue, and Awesome Peach.

Galaxy A33 5G Design :

The Samsung Galaxy A33 flaunts a Slim, Simple, Sophisticated, Clean, and Smooth look with a Matte Finish design, which makes it comfortable to hold in your hand. Its quality bezels with rounded corners and attractive camera housing give it an aesthetic appeal.

The power button and volume buttons are visible on the right side, while the left side is clearly visible. The top houses a SIM tray and secondary mic, while the bottom houses the primary mic, Type-C port, and primary speaker grille.

Galaxy A33 5G Spill and Scratch-proof :

This mid-range A series smartphone comes with an interesting feature, an IP67 water-resistant and dust-proof design that can withstand up to 1.0 meters of fresh water for about 30 minutes. Plus, the phone screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 same as the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G, to ensure that your device remains protected from scratches. This water-resistant feature generally comes in the flagship smartphone.

Galaxy A33 5G Display :

Samsung Galaxy A33 5G sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display, which offers you a wide and immersive viewing angle with bright outdoors, vivid high-definition, and true-to-life color. Additionally, thanks to the 90Hz high refresh rate, you can indulge in seamless gaming, smooth browsing, streaming, and more with a cinematic viewing experience.

The phone has thin bezels around the display except for the chin, which is slightly thicker. Furthermore, it sports a waterdrop notch design at the top which looks quite dated as most Samsung phones have a punch-hole cutout.

Galaxy A33 5G Camera :

The IP67 waterresistant support handset features a quad camera setup, including a 48 MP (F1.8) Primary camera, 8 MP 119° (f2.2) Ultra wide camera, and 2MP (F2.4) Macro and Depth camera.

The Camera module features a multi-lens camera system; this mobile phone allows you to take professional-level photographs. Furthermore, the 48MP OIS camera lets you click detailed pictures and videos even on the move. Plus, you can take clear and bright pictures even in low light. It also comes with a 13MP wide-angle selfie camera.

It also comes with Photo Remaster’s powerful AI that automatically enhances your photos so you can instantly upgrade your images and capture your funniest moments with regularly updated new Snapchat lenses on Fun Mode.

Galaxy A33 5G Processor & Storage:

Samsung Galaxy A33 5G is powered by a 5 nm octa-core processor, the Exynos 1280 chipset, which is seen on Galaxy A53 5G, which should allow you to handle heavy-duty multitasking. It comes with up to 128 GB of internal storage so that you can easily save your photos and videos in it. Plus, whenever you find yourself running out of storage space, you can use a microSD card for expanded memory storage of up to 1TB.

This 5G phone comes with the RAM Plus feature; you can enjoy powerful and blazing-fast performance for every task you do. However, the A33 isn’t something I’d recommend to hardcore gamers. You can do some light and casual gaming but don’t expect much. Also, you cannot play hardcore gaming on Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Galaxy A33 5G One UI :

The Galaxy A33 5G features One UI 4.1 and is based on Android 12, which brings animations and transitions throughout the OS to make the phone smoother. When it comes to custom Android implementations, One UI is still the best and most widely used. Also, the company promises four major Android OS updates and five security patches for the model.

Back in November 2022, the Galaxy A33 5G received its first major Android 13-based One UI 5.0 software update. It brings compatibility and user-friendly features. With Samsung’s Android 13 update, your phone is getting the ability to replace all compatible app icons with dynamic-themed icons, as well as lots of color palette options.

In addition, the lock screen can now be personalized without unlocking the phone in different ways. However, after the Android 13 update, the phone is running slow in some conditions.

Galaxy A33 5G Battery & Charging :

The Galaxy A33 5G houses the same 5000mAh battery as the Galaxy A53 5G, which should enable the phone to last up to two days of streaming, light gaming, sharing, and more. The phone comes with 25W fast charging, takes around 1.5 hours to fully charge the phone from 0 to 100 percent.

It comes with an Adaptive power-saving feature; you can enjoy better battery performance. However, the charger does not come in the box. Now, if you have a Type-C charger, then you are good to go, else you will have to buy a new charger from Samsung.

Galaxy A33 5G Audio, Connectivity:

The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G sports a stereo speaker setup, which is better than the single speaker on the Galaxy A32. This phone has a theatre-like atmosphere with Dolby Atmos features. This allows you to experience rich music and vocals with superb clarity.

I personally have experience with it, and the sound quality is also good. Multimedia consumption on the phone is a pleasure. However, you’ll have to sacrifice our darling 3.5mm audio jack.

On the connectivity front, the Galaxy smartphone harnesses the power of 5G fast-speed network connectivity so that you experience lightning-fast content sharing, lag-free gaming, and faster loading of apps.

Final Verdict:

Overall performance of the Galaxy A33 5G in this price segment is decent with its processor, battery, display, software support, and more advanced features such as 5G connectivity, IP67 water-resistant, dust-free design Dolby Atmos. On the other hand, the phone is missing some aspects, like a 3.5mm audio jack and 120Hz refresh rate, and there is no charger in the box.

Moreover, the Galaxy A33 5G smartphone from Samsung has offered good value for money smartphones with its decent performance. However, you can go for other Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Realme, and OPPO for these specifications under the 20,000 price range.
