Samsung One UI 5.1: Enhanced Multitasking For Galaxy Device

Samsung’s 2023 Galaxy S flagship series was announced in February, and with it came a minor One UI update, Minor only in name. One UI 5.1 is an iterative update following One UI 5.0. Nevertheless, it brought several minor changes and meaningful additions in terms of aesthetics and functionality. It has since made its way to phones in the Galaxy S series, Galaxy Fold series, and A/M series. Samsung One UI 5.1 includes some new gestures aimed at improving the multitasking experience.

With the release of One UI 4.1.1 for tablets and select foldable phones, Samsung revamped the split-screen and pop-up view multitasking-oriented features. Later, the Korean tech giant brought the same new multitasking gestures to more Galaxy phones through the One UI 5.0 update.

Samsung is currently rolling out the One UI 5.1 software update for its eligible devices to experience new features and improvements. With One UI 5.1, the company has paid more attention to Galaxy devices’ unique mobile multitasking capabilities. One UI 5.1 further improves upon the existing multitasking.

This additional update brings three multitasking-related features which will improve your multitasking experience. Features are listed below.

Samsung One UI 5.1 Multitasking:

Easily minimize or switch to full screen:

The more impressive improvement for multitasking is how the pop-up view works in One UI 5.1. Thanks to this new firmware update, users can now minimize or maximize app windows without going to the options menu. Just drag a corner.

Access your most used apps in split screen:

When you start a split-screen view in One UI 5.1, the apps you use most will appear below your recently used apps to help you find the apps you need faster. You require. To recall, in One UI 5.0, summoning a list of split-screen apps via a dedicated two-finger gesture reveals a list of “recent apps,” followed by a complete list of those apps, which provides multi-window compatibility.

Improved multitasking in DeX:

While the Samsung DeX UI in One UI 5.1 remained the same as One UI 5.0, it gained some major new practical features to enhance multitasking via multi-windows in a desktop environment. In the split screen view, you can now drag the divider to the center of the screen to resize both windows. You can also snap a window to a corner to fill a quarter of the screen.
