Android 14: Enhanced PIN Privacy – Will Hide Your Phone’s PIN

On March 8, Google released the second developer preview of Android 14, improving on the work of the first developer preview of Android 14 from last month and adding additional enhancements to privacy, Security, performance, developer productivity, and refinements. Here in this article, we are talking about the Android 14 Enhanced PIN privacy, which comes After booting up Android 13 QPR3 Beta 2 on Pixel devices.

Enhanced PIN privacy feature of Android 14 or Android 13 is getting a major development with QPR3 Beta 2. As detailed by Mishaal Rahman, Google has added a new toggle that, when used, will make it easier to hide your phone’s PIN from shoulder surfers.

Since the feature is in development, Pixel phones running Android 13 can get all the experimental content by enrolling in the beta program. As for the Enhanced PIN privacy feature, Android 13 QPR3 Beta 2 is a really great upgrade.

Android 14 Enhanced PIN privacy will “disable animations while entering the PIN”, meaning that the animation that generally plays when you tap any number on the keyboard won’t be shown. Plus, it’ll be more challenging for shoulder surfers to see you enter your PIN since the Android lock screen will only show a clear visual indication for each number you tap.
