iOS 17: List Of Eligible Apple iPhone Devices

Apple released iOS 16 for iPhone device owners late last year. iOS 16 is similar to iPadOS 16. The US tech company has done an impressive job of rolling this out quickly for eligible devices. Some iPhones and iPads are now running iOS 16. On the other hand, the official version of iOS 17 is still a few days away, but the question here is which iPhone will be eligible for Apple iOS 17.

The annual tradition continues as the company prepares for another exciting unveiling at WWDC. This year, on June 5, Apple showcased the much-awaited iOS 17, the latest operating system for the iPhone.

Apple is expected to discuss the next major version of its phone software at WWDC 2023, like iOS 16. To recall, the first developer beta of iOS 16 was released on June 6, 2022, shortly after WWDC, with the first public beta released on July 11, 2022. The public version of iOS 16 was released on September 12, 2022.

The software update mentioned above was first announced at the WWDC event in June, but it was initially only available in beta for users willing to deal with bugs. For eligible iPhone owners, iOS 17 will bring changes to key apps and services like Phone, FaceTime, and Messages. For eligible iPad users, the firmware will include expanded functionality for the Health app, widgets, and new ways to customize the lock screen.

At its annual launch event, Wonderlust, on Tuesday, Apple introduced the iPhone 15 lineup that includes a new titanium exterior and an all-new Apple Watch with USB-C charging, while also announcing the iOS 17 launch date.

Apple announced at the event on Tuesday that iOS 17 will be available for users to download for free on Sept. 18.

After quite a bit of tinkering, here we have the Apple iOS 17 eligible devices list. Ultimately, the list gives an overall idea of which iPhone from the Apple family will meet the need for the iOS 17 upgrade.

Apple has streamlined its software update policies, so it’s easy to figure out which devices will get the iOS 17 update. There are many devices that are now eligible for Five iOS upgrades. This means that even models that come with iOS 12 and later will receive the update. Check out the list below to see if your device is on the list.
