How Many Software Updates Will The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G Get?

OnePlus is one of the best among Android brands when it comes to software upgrades, but does the new OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite enjoy the same long software support period as its more expensive siblings? Nord CE 3 Lite 5G is the first Nord series smartphone to be launched in 2023. The new entry-level 5G smartphone packs some major upgrades compared to its predecessor and is even cheaper.

OnePlus, unlike some manufacturers, usually reveals how many OS upgrades and security updates its smartphones will receive over the years. The same is true for the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G.

OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite Android/OxygenOS Update:

The device’s product page information states that the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite will receive two major OS upgrades and three years of security updates. Since the phone comes with OxygenOS 13.1, based on Android 13, it should be updated to Android 14 and 15 in the next few years.

The Nord CE 3 Lite’s two OS upgrades are less than OnePlus’ Ultra flagships and some flagship smartphones, like the OnePlus 11, which will receive four OS upgrades. That isn’t particularly surprising since OnePlus’ entry-level and budget-friendly models receive less software support.

The affordable OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite has one more major OS upgrade after receiving the update from Android 12 to Android 13. However, the Nord CE 3 Lite 5G will get security updates for much longer.

OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite Security Update:

OnePlus says the Nord CE 3 Lite 5G will get security updates for three years, so the phone should keep getting security patches until 2026. It is undoubtedly better than most of the competitors in the budget-friendly category.

On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite comes with OxygenOS 13.1 pre-installed, which means you obtain a pretty, nature-inspired, fast, and smooth experience and unreliable benefits like lower app power consumption, faster app installation, and better app optimization.
