Comparing the Powerhouses: A Look at the Differences between Galaxy S23’s Chip and OnePlus 11’s Chip

Samsung Galaxy S23 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 ,for Galaxy was released on February 1, 2023. On the other hand, the OnePlus 11 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is all set to launch globally, including in India, on February 7. On this page, you will find all the differences between the Galaxy S23’s chip and the OnePlus 11’s chip.

During the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event, Samsung announced that it has partnered with Qualcomm to bring exclusive features and optimizations to the Galaxy S23 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset and claims that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy is the world’s fastest Snapdragon chipset.

Difference Between Galaxy S23’s Chip & OnePlus 11’s Chip:

SpecificationGalaxy S23’s Chip OnePlus 11’s Chip
Primary Clock Speed3.36GHz3.2GHz
GPU Clock Speed719MHz 680MHz

Primary Clock Speed & GPU Clock Speed:

The Galaxy S23’s Chip (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the Galaxy) has increased the primary clock speed from 3.2GHz to 3.36GHz (0.16GHz higher than the OnePlus 11’s Chip (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 vanilla chip), and the GPU clock speed from 680MHz to 719MHz (39MHz higher). Moreover, the company has provided dozens of additional features with the “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy“, which are much more than the vanilla chip. Let us discuss this in detail.

The higher CPU clock speed and faster GPU result in faster performance so that you experience lag-free gaming, faster multitasking, faster loading & opening of apps and games, and even booting up the device.

Moreover, the South Korean tech giant has officially confirmed that the Galaxy S23‘s chip, with Combined with the faster LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage is 34% faster in CPU workloads, 41% faster in gaming, and 49% faster in machine learning tasks than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 vanilla chip (OnePlus 11‘s Chip).

 Camera Performance:

Also, the Galaxy S23‘s chip comes with a better ISP for better camera performance as compared to the OnePlus 11’s chip. This is the first Snapdragon processor to use Qualcomm’s new Cognitive ISP. This tiny part of the chipset does real-time semantic segmentation to improve images from the phone’s camera. It also uses AI and ML to understand what’s happening in a scene and then processes each object, subject and background separately to make images look more natural.
