OxygenOS Software Update Support Ends For These OnePlus devices
Nowadays, Android 14 has debuted on the consumer platform as a public beta. On the other hand, OnePlus 11 users have also entered the Android 14 beta, we can expect the stable version to be released in August this year. Meanwhile, the Chinese tech company continues pushing ineligible devices to the end-of-life (EOL) list. Here in this article, we are sharing the list of OnePlus devices that will no longer (Ends) update OxygenOS software.
OnePlus OxygenOS software is a fast and sleek vision that is fundamental to a better smartphone experience. However, due to their outdated and incompatible mechanisms, these software updates often need to fit properly in some handsets.
Consequently, the company needs to push such devices to the EOL list and stop updating distribution for them. The OnePlus 7 and 7T series have already stopped support for significant software updates and monthly security patches with the December 2022 security update H.32 (7-series) & F.18 (7T-series). And the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are the next to lose significant software support.
The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro smartphones launched with OxygenOS-based Android 10 software and were eligible for the Android 3 software update. To note, with the Android 13 software update, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro lose compatibility to receive the Android 14 update. So, the OnePlus 8 series software support may officially end later this year.
Similarly, OnePlus also restricts End of Life and New Edition from running on these devices. Recently the company introduced an update for the 7 Series, raising users’ expectations. So, you can check out the OnePlus devices that will not receive the OxygenOS update below.
