After months of speculation and secrecy, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg finally unveiled his new text-based app – Threads, an Instagram app. As the name suggests, here is Instagram’s companion app now available in over 100 countries, including India, the US, the UK, Canada, and Australia. You need to download the app from Play Store or App Store to join Instagram threads. Here are the steps to create Threads account without an Instagram account.

Threads, an Instagram app, competes with Twitter and offers many similar features, including posting text-centric updates with images and videos focusing on close and private communication with close friends.

In addition, the Threads app allows users to post updates with up to 500 characters of text as well as up to 10 images or videos. Each post is called a thread, and you can create a series of linked posts, similar to Twitter. Also, users can like or comment on a stick and reshare it with their followers. Additionally, threads can also be shared with other apps and platforms.

On the flip side, you cannot use the hashtag in the Threads app, but we can expect that the company will soon provide this ability in future updates. Now, you can install it on your Android and iPhone smartphone or tablet through Google Play Store or App Store, respectively, and create a Threads account without an Instagram account.
