Samsung’s Four Generations of OS Upgrades Policy Now Includes Surprisingly Affordable Galaxy M34 5G

In February 2022, Samsung extended its commitment to providing users with the most up-to-date and more secure mobile experience by offering up to four generations of One UI and Android OS upgrades on flagship Galaxy S/Z/Tablets Series and selected A series devices. Still, its update policy applies to the M series, Including Galaxy M54 and M34 5G.

From March 2023, this policy applies to Galaxy M series phones like the Galaxy M54, and now, Samsung is going a step further and adding even more affordable devices to the list. According to Samsung, Samsung’s newly announced Galaxy M34 5G will get 4 Android OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates.

The Galaxy M34 5G is powered by the 5nm-based Exynos 1280 chipset, making it fast and super power-efficient and deserves such long-term software support. Galaxy M34 launched with the latest Android 13-based One UI 5.1 software, and it will receive an Android 14 update as the first major OS update in next year.

The brand-new Galaxy M34 5G follows that policy, which means the 2023 M series device will eventually receive four major OS upgrades up to Android 17, or whatever Google will call its mobile OS in 2026.

Support for the Galaxy M34 will not end in 2026. The mid-range Galaxy M series should receive security patches for five years after launch, which means Samsung will support these phones at least until 2028.
