Meta Introducing Real-Time Avatar Calling Feature For Messenger & Instagram

Meta has announced that it is launching real-time avatar calls on Instagram and Messenger, allowing people to now introduce themselves as their Meta avatars in video calls on Instagram and Messenger. The new feature is available on Android and iOS with the latest version of Messenger and Instagram.

Meta’s new Avatar Calling feature allows you to seamlessly represent yourself and hang out with others in the Metaverse. As per the report, more than a billion meta-avatars have been created in the Avatar Store so far, helping people express themselves in new ways in the digital space.

Also, this feature will be helpful when users do not want to show their real faces during a video call and want a third option between camera-off and camera-on. Now, this is the first time the company announced that the people using Messenger and Instagram have access to real-time calling with Meta Avatars.

After you install the latest update, you can share animated avatar stickers to Instagram and Facebook Stories and Reels, Facebook comments, and 1:1 message threads on Messenger and Instagram. Moreover, avatar stickers are a great way to express yourself, but just like selfies, sometimes solo self-expression can get a little lonely.

Earlier, the company is standardizing a range of features across its various platforms, including account syncing, cross-platform sharing, privacy and security, stickers, and now, avatars across its platforms, including Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp.
