Meanwhile, the famous green line problem on display continues to appear on older OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 9 series models in various markets. Recently, OnePlus has introduced a lifetime screen warranty for affected devices in India.
According to the information, this new policy covers all OnePlus phones facing the green line issue and offers a screen warranty for the device’s lifetime. The company is also offering upgrade discounts to some OnePlus 8 and 9 series owners in case parts are unavailable for screen replacement.
Lifetime Screen Warranty for Affected OnePlus Devices
OnePlus has confirmed to Android Authority that the company will offer a “Lifetime Screen Warranty” exclusively to customers in India. As per the report, this warranty policy covers all OnePlus smartphones facing the green line issue, ensuring that affected users can get their screens replaced at no additional cost. The full statement is as follows:
“We realize that this issue has caused a great deal of inconvenience to the affected users, and we apologize for it. In line with our unwavering commitment, we encourage users to visit the nearest OnePlus service centre for device diagnosis, and we will provide free screen replacement for all devices affected by the situation. On select OnePlus 8 and 9 Series devices, we are also offering a voucher that will provide the user with a fair percentage of the device value to upgrade to a new OnePlus device. In light of the current situation, we are now offering lifetime screen warranty on all affected devices. Thank you for your understanding and support.”
It is to be noted that this policy only applies to OnePlus users with affected devices in India. And we can expect the company to announce it in more regions in the coming days soon.
Upgrade discount for select OnePlus devices:
Apart from the lifetime screen warranty for use on affected OnePlus devices, a Telegram user @docnok63 pointed us to several announcements posted on the OnePlus Exclusive Service Center. The notice confirmed that the company offers an upgrade discount for those experiencing green line issues.
As per the announcement, OnePlus offers discount vouchers to the OnePlus 8 Pro, 8T, 9 and 9R owners with the Green Line fault to upgrade to the new OnePlus smartphone.
Notable, affected customers who wish to avail of the screen warranty and upgrade discount should make their replacement or upgrade through the official OnePlus India website rather than through other online or offline retailers.
