Samsung Android 14: Galaxy Devices Eligible For One UI 6.0 Update

Android 14 is the next software version for the Android ecosystem. On February 8, Google officially began developing this major upgrade with the first developer beta open for testing and development. On the other hand, several Samsung Galaxy devices will get Android 14 through the One UI 6.0 update. Google is likely to push the stable version of Android 14 by August this year, while the One UI 6.0 beta may start by the end of September.

On May 10, Google announced Android 14 beta 2 for Pixel devices and various non-Pixel phones are now eligible to install the Android 14 beta, thanks to Google’s announcement at I/O 2023. Despite this, Samsung hasn’t participated in Google’s activities as it runs its One UI beta test for Galaxy devices.

To recall, Samsung started rolling out Android 13 to Galaxy device owners late last year. And the company has done an impressive job of rolling it out quickly for eligible devices. Many Samsung smartphones and tablets are now running Android 13 with One UI 5.0 on top. So, the question is which Samsung devices will receive the One UI 6.0 update in the future.

Samsung has streamlined its software update policies, so we already have some good ideas about which Galaxy devices will be eligible for the next version of the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. However, before moving to the One UI 6.0 device list, Galaxy devices are eligible for more major upgrades (would receive One UI 5.1 (list) and One UI 5.1.1) before Android 14.

Samsung One UI 6.0 Beta Testing:

On August 11, Samsung invited Galaxy S23 series users to join the One UI 6 beta program and be among the first to try out the latest enhancements and share valuable feedback. The beta program is available in the United States, Germany, and South Korea. Additionally, the company has rolled out One UI 6.0 beta update for Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra in South Korea. And other compatible Galaxy device handsets launched with Android 12 or later will receive the beta soon after.
