US Variants Of Galaxy S22 5G Get More Secure With August 2023 Update

Samsung released the August 2023 security update to the European and Korean variants of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus 5G, and Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G earlier. The company also released a new security update to the carrier-locked and factory-unlocked versions of the Galaxy S22 5G in the US.

The latest software update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy S22 5G has firmware version S90xUSQU3CWGI, and it is rolling out on MetroPCS, Dish Wireless, and T-Mobile’s networks in the US. More carriers could release the new update within the next few days. The factory-unlocked version of the Galaxy S22 5G for the US market comes with firmware version S90xU1UEU3CWGI. The update brings the August 2023 security update that fixes over 80 security flaws found in the previous version of the software.  

Samsung August 2023 Update:

The new update mainly focuses on enhancing the system security of the device by including the latest August 2023 Android security measures. Additionally, the patch addresses various bugs and stability optimizations, which bring about a better overall user experience. Don’t expect it to bring any new features, but you can expect the new One UI update to bring new features and improvements to the Contacts and My Files apps.

How To Update

You can check for the new update if you have a Galaxy S22 5G and live in the US. To do that, open Settings, press on the Software Update option, and then click on the Download and Install option.

Galaxy S22 One UI 6.0:

The One UI 6.0 beta program, which began a week ago for the Galaxy S23 series, is closer than ever to expanding to the Galaxy S22 series. A couple of days ago, Galaxy S22 Android 14 beta firmware was spotted on Samsung’s servers. Later, the company opened up a dedicated One UI 6.0 section for the 2022 flagships on its community forums in India and the UK.
