Honor Phones Will Get Updates For 3 Years With Google Apps And Services

System update policies are an increasing battleground in the smartphone sector. Honour offers three major OS updates and five years of security patches, similar to the Google Pixel series. The company has announced that Honor phones coming to India will get 3 years of updates along with Google apps and services.

Honour is gearing up to make a comeback in India and has partnered with local company PSAV Global to set up its retail market. The company will sell its phones under the HonorTech brand, which will be headed by former Realme CEO Madhav Sheth.

Recently, Madhav Sheth conducted a Q&A session on YouTube where he revealed several details about the upcoming Honor phone in India, from launch timeline to software support and UI features. Let’s talk about all of them below.

Honor First Phone With Google Apps And Services:

According to the Madhav Sheth Q&A session, the first phone from the Chinese brand will be the Honor 90, which will soon launch in the coming month. Ahead of the official launch, Honor has revealed that its India-launched phone will get three years of software support with bloatware-free UI and access to Google App and services, including Google Maps, Google Gmail, Google Drive, Google Photos, and other related applications.

Honor Phones Will Get Updates For 3 Years:

The Q&A session also revealed that the upcoming Honor will come with Android 13 out of the box and will get 3 years of software support in India, which includes 2 years of major OS updates and 3 years of security patches. This means that the company will be giving its older devices up to two years of flagship device experience.

At the same time, the company is still behind Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo and Xiaomi. The OEMs also offer four major OS upgrades and five years of security updates for select phone
