US Variants Of Galaxy Z Fold 5 & Flip 5 Get More Secure With September 2023 Update

Samsung has already released the September 2023 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 in various regions. The South Korean tech company has now released a new security update for carrier-locked and factory-unlocked versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 in the US.

The latest software update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 has firmware version F946USQS1AWI1 and F731USQS1AWI1, respectively, and it is rolling out on Verizon, T-Mobile, USCelluler, MetroPCS’ networks in the US. More carriers and networks could release the update within the next few days. 

The factory-unlocked version of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 for the US market comes with firmware version F946U1UES1AWI1 and F731USQS1AWI1, respectively. The update brings the September 2023 security update that fixes over 90 security flaws found in the previous version of the software.  

Additionally, the new firmware enhances the system security and stability of the devices and enhances performance to deliver a better foldable experience.

Samsung has launched its next-generation foldable smartphones, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, at the Unpacked event held in its hometown. The foldable smartphone comes with the Android 13-based One UI 5.1.1 operating system with several exciting features and intuitive functionalities. Also, both phones will get their first major Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update later this year.
