WhatsApp Latest Update Introducing “Passkey” Feature With v2.23.20.4

WhatsApp is rolling out a new update to provide more security and privacy to users. The company, with the latest update, is introducing a new feature named “Passkey” for account verification. The update is only available to some lucky beta testers for now. And soon, the brand will make it available to all widely.

Whatsapp New Update’s Details

The latest update has arrived with its own identification build number, which is 2.23.20.4, so the users can quickly identify the update with this version code. The update is making its way to a few beta testers and is available on the Google Play Beta Program. With this update, the users will get the facility of a passkey feature for account verification.

What’s New With v2.23.20.4

As mentioned above, the update is bringing a new feature called “Passkey,” which is just a simple way to sign in safely. Through this feature, the company offers a combination of numbers or characters to confirm the user’s identity. It also makes sure that only authorized devices can be verified.

Users can mainly use this feature when they experience trouble while logging into their WhatsApp account. This feature allows the users to use their biometric information, for instance, fingerprint, face, or even screen lock, to verify user identity. Noticeably, the passkey will always get stored in a password manager safely, such as Google Password Manager. With this feature, the users will get more protection to permit users to sign into their accounts easily and safely.

How To Check Is“Passkey” Feature Available?

However, the feature is rolling out slowly to more users, but the users can check if the feature is available for their WhatsApp account by just following the steps mentioned here; just open WhatsApp navigation Settings >> Account. In this section, a new entry point to configure the user’s passkey may be available once the app gets upgraded with the latest update.
