At the I/O 2023 event back in May, Google first announced Gmail for Wear OS Watch. Now, recently, with the launch of Pixel Watch 2, Google has also released the Gmail application for the Wear OS watches, just a few months after the initial announcement. 

This is certainly a big change and the most awaited option, as Google has never before offered any way to access Gmail outside of its notifications on its smartwatches. 

It’s quite simple to run the Gmail application on the Wear OS watches, as it supports the ability to view your inbox, also supporting more than one account all at once. It works with whatever account/accounts are available on your smartwatch. The Gmail application can easily open an entire email, which you can scroll through, including multiple messages in the same thread. In addition, you can perform a manual refresh of your inbox if required.

It’s worth noting that the Gmail app also supports a watch face complication, which can display new emails. However, it doesn’t show all your unread emails, rather only the emails that have arrived recently. Furthermore, the Gmail app is now available on the Google Play Store and is compatible with WearOS 3 as well as WearOS 4 Watches.

Meanwhile, Gmail is now on Wear OS. Following are a few new features you can operate from the Gmail app on the Watch.

• Check your inbox: With the latest update, you can now check your emails in your inbox.
• Read emails: not just notifications; you can now read the entire email on your Wear OS.
• Archive emails: Wear OS users can archive emails through the Gmail app on their Watch.
• Delete emails: you can delete those emails easily if you have read them or are not important. 
• Star email: Star or Pin any important email in your inbox.
• Mark emails as read or unread: you can even mark your emails as read or unread.
• Reply or reply to all emails: through this feature, you can either reply to an email or reply to all the emails at once.
• Check Gmail notifications: you can check all the Gmail notifications straight from the main screen without opening the Gmail app.
• Add Gmail complications and tiles: also, you can easily add a Gmail complication or a tile in order to easily access the Gmail app on your Wear OS.
