Google last week announced the long-awaited release of the Android 14 stable update for Pixel phones and pushed the source to the AOSP project. Google also assured that the update will be extended to Android partner phones. On its X page, Carl Pei has confirmed the rollout of Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta 1 for Phone (1).
According to the Nothing CEO, the Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5 open beta will be released for Phone (1) before the end of the year. So, Phone (1) users will also experience new major Android updates later this year.
A few months ago, Nothing introduced the Android 13-based Nothing OS 2.0 update, and now they are preparing for a significant software upgrade with the upcoming release of Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta 1 based on Android 14. The Nothing Phone (1), on the other hand, also received an Android 14 developer preview in May 2023.
Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta:
On the flip side, the Consumer tech giant released the Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5 Open beta for Nothing Phone 2. Android 14 introduces a plethora of new features, including a new monochrome colour theme, Quick Settings layout, Nothing earbuds icons, More Lock Screen shortcut Ringtone and notification sound volumes separately, and regional settings.
Furthermore, Nothing OS 2.5 comes with enhanced customization and improvement options such as a Widgets library interface, Photos widget Screenshot editor and menu, a back gesture improved, hide app icons on the Home Screen and app drawer, Three-finger swipe screenshot, Home Screen and Lock Screen customization, New solid colour wallpapers, and more.
