OnePlus and Sony both have announced that the flagship OnePlus 12 will be the first smartphone ever across the world to come equipped with a brand-new LYTIA mobile image sensor of Sony, and if this comes true, then this specification will add the four moons to the device.

This is being speculated by a post on Weibo on which the brand OnePlus itself wrote that.

The new generation of Sony’s LYTIA light embodies beauty with light and opens up a new future for mobile imaging.”

By this statement, it is pretty clear that the new generation of LYTIA of Sony Light realizes beauty with light, which provides a new future for mobile imaging. Basically, this will enhance the user’s capturing experience.

OnePlus is the second sub-brand of OPPO after vivo due to the benefit of the umbrella group’s partnership with Sony’s LYTIA Mobile Image Sensor Brand. OPPO announced its strategic partnership with the brand back in September and stated that its smartphones will bring dual-layer stacked Sony LYTIA sensors to future flagships. Meanwhile, Vivo also confirmed that its forthcoming vivo X100 series would feature a custom version of the LYT800 sensor.

The flagship device, the OnePlus 12, will get a higher-end sensor. In June 2023, Sony revealed that it would expand the area of its LYTIA image sensor line along with new 50 MP products, and the OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a 50 MP IMX966 primary camera.

It is expected to be a 1/1.4 inch sensor with 2-layer transistor pixel technology similar to the ExmorT IMX 888 stacked CMOS sensor, which was announced on the Xperia 1 V earlier this year. The stacked technique allows for more light capture and better night-time shots so that the users can expect improvements in the areas from the OnePlus 12.
