WhatsApp Will Soon Let You Add Two Profile Pictures On Same Account

HIGHLIGHTS
  • WhatsApp is testing the ability to add a second profile picture on a account.
  • WhatsApp is also working on making it easier to skip the video forward and backward up to 10 seconds in one time.

WhatsApp remains one of the most popular instant messaging apps despite not being as feature-rich as some of its primary competitors. Slowly but surely, WhatsApp has been working on bringing some of the most requested features and improvements to its platform. Last month, the company introduced the ability to log into two WhatsApp accounts simultaneously on Android. This functionality helps switch between accounts – such as your work and personal. Now, the service has announced that it is testing the ability to use two WhatsApp profile pictures on the same account.

According to WABetaInfo in a recent beta, WhatsApp is working on an “Alternative profile” feature. Notably, this will be available in a future update of the app. If you’re in the beta testing program, you may get two profile pictures after updating the app to version 2.23.24.4.

WhatsApp Alternative profile:

According to a report, the app is bringing a new privacy feature for beta users, including an optional profile privacy feature. It will be available within the privacy screen regarding our profile photo, and it will allow users to configure a different photo and name that will be visible to contacts who cannot see their primary profile information.

As a result, the optional profile feature could serve as a security measure: it would add a new layer of security and privacy to the user experience as they would finally have more control over their information and photos.

On the other hand, WhatsApp is also testing new features to improve the video-watching experience of users. With this new WhatsApp update, the brand is introducing new features for Android users to advance and rewind videos up to 10 seconds at a time.
