Messages is a workspace of Google and is the official Google application for messages over a Rich Communication Services commonly known as RCS, along with a fallback to SMS/MMS. It keeps the user’s conversations secure with spam protection and end-to-end encryption. Now, the company is gearing up for the new features, which start rolling out this week. This time, Google is not only delivering new features but also dropping support of Magic Compose. Check out the article for detailed information.

Google, on its official messages service, dropped the support for Magic Compose, so the users will no longer see Magic Composer. It is being speculated because, on a number of smartphone devices that are running on the latest beta update with version number (20231031_01_RC00), the Magic Composer option is not appearing, which was placed at the left of text fields in conversations.

However, this is even as the “Magic Compose” toggle still exists in Settings >> Suggestions. And for now, there is nothing to turn it on or off. This change is more than similar to an accident and could be assumed that it will be resolved by a server-side update. The AI-powered Magic Compose should still be a lab feature that Google has yet to introduce.

Apart from this, it is also being appeared the new Google Account-based Device pairing experience. However, it was only live on one of the company’s devices when the first reported regarding the initial rollout, but availability has since become larger. Also, Google Message is rolling out the upgraded voice recorder, which includes a new UI that permits the users to skip on holding down.

And now, the users will see a new “Unread” line. In Messages, the company offers a new in-conversation Unread line, which will divide the conversation into two parts: on the upper side of the line, all the read messages will appear, and above the line, all the new unread messages will appear.
